THE ROAD OF THE SOUTH TO THE SCENT OF THE SOUTH THE GIN SUL SPECIAL EDITIONS 2021

Finally traveling again, finally back to the south! "Caminho do Sul", the " Road of the South",
for a change doesn't lead the Altonaer Spirituosen Manufaktur team to Portugal this year,
but instead on three separate journeys to the South of Europe:

To southern France, and the lavender fields of Provence.

To northern Italy, and the coffee capital Trieste.

And across the Peloponnes to Athens, following the path of the Ouzo.

The special editions 2021:

What is the scent of the South? Christian and Manuel pursue this question with the help of perfumer Delphine Thierry in Grasse. The town not far from the French Riviera is considered the capital of perfume production. Lavender blossoms and delicate notes of rose, cedarwood, cardamom and lemongrass capture the beguiling scent of southern France in "Caminho do Sul França.”

Itália

hand-numbered bottles

From Hamburg, Max and Stephan ride two old Vespas over the Alps to the Italian Adriatic, to Trieste - the world capital of coffee - to look over the shoulders of baristi and green coffee traders. On Lake Garda, they visit the renowned Omkafè coffee roastery. "Caminho do Sul Itália" combines the scent of freshly ground coffee with fine juniper distillate.

By ferry, the GIN-SUL “Bulli” reaches the Peloponnese. In an old ouzo distillery, Sebastian and Rafael are introduced to the secrets of the aniseed spirit, before they set off for Athens. The shimmering metropolis is considered a mecca for cocktail aficionados worldwide. "Caminho do Sul Grécia" marries Gin Sul with the classic botanicals of ouzo: Anise, fennel, mastic and thyme.

The cork also serves as the stamp.

Turned from beech wood, then varnished and glued to the natural cork and the stamp plate. Next, the marking pin is hammered in (that's the name of the metal part that tells you how to hold the stamp). Custom made by a small family business in northern Portugal for the Altonaer Spirituosen Manufaktur.

Approved by the highest authority: You can stamp your entry to the south yourself.

LIMITED TO 3,000 HAND-NUMBERED BOTTLES EACH.

Sales start at the distillery: Tuesday, October 26, 2021 - 9 a.m.

TO THE SOUTH with a CAMERA

We have captured each of our trips on film. Get to know the beautiful regions of our excursions, the background and the people behind Caminho do Sul. As in the distillation of a good gin, we have taken
our time and hope you will do so too, when watching.
For example: with an ice-cold Gin Sul Tonic and good company.

Our attitude towards stellar prices and so called tie-in agreements:

As a manufactur, we provide a recommended retail price. Most dealers follow this recommendation. However, each dealer is ultimately
free to charge more or less. We neither have nor claim any influence on this, especially since we are not legally allowed to do so. We are aware
of the fact that in the past years there have been so-called "black sheep" here and there, that tried to sell bottles at dramatically inflated prices.
We clearly distance ourselves from such practices. Likewise, we distance ourselves from any kind of tie-in agreements, where the purchase of a special edition is coupled to the purchase of a regular bottle. Hanseatic fairness - that must always remain the motto and that is always the
best way for a retailer in the long run. Cheers.
